Save the Elephants (STE) is a non-profit organization founded by Iain Douglas-Hamilton in 1993. Its mission is to ensure elephants do not face extinction and to protect their natural habitats. The organization focuses on three key areas: protection, research, and awareness. STE works to combat illegal elephant hunting, particularly in Africa and Asia, and collaborates with scientists to study elephant behavior. In addition to its research efforts, Save the Elephants raises awareness through films, television, and new media to highlight the importance of conservation. With a presence in 40 countries, the organization has supported 335 projects dedicated to elephant conservation. Through these initiatives, Save the Elephants continues to play a vital role in safeguarding elephants and promoting their well-being across the globe.
